Teeth Whitening Q&A

Why Should I Have My Teeth Whitened?

The most requested cosmetic dental procedure is teeth whitening. Some people have their teeth whitened to avoid dental health problems and others just to feel better about the appearance of their smiles. Some of the reasons for stained and yellowed teeth include:

  • Genetics
  • Antibiotics
  • Age
  • Changes in your enamel
  • Antibiotics
  • Tooth decay
  • Root canal issues
  • Internal tooth discoloration caused by exposure to high levels of tetracycline and fluoride
  • External tooth discoloration caused by factors such as certain foods, coffee, tea, and tobacco.

Is Teeth Whitening Safe for My Teeth?

Teeth whitening can erode tooth enamel if it is not done professionally. Always go to your dentist to complete teeth whitening as over the counter treatments can be used incorrectly resulting in long lasting damage to the enamel. Dr. Arora and Dr. Chhapra use the most advanced teeth whitening procedures that have been researched and tested. This ensures you will receive the best and safest whitening treatments available. Currently, we are using Phillips Zoom! Whitespeed and Night White Excel 3 to provide safe and effective tooth whitening services to our patients.

Do I Have to Come Into the Office at Oasis Dental to Have Teeth Whitening Treatments?

We offer a variety of teeth whitening treatments that each involve their own time frame. For example, we can do some teeth whitening treatments in our office in just one visit. However, if you would like to complete the teeth whitening treatments at home, we can provide customized trays and gels for you to use at home. Keep in mind that the over the counter teeth whiteners will take a longer period of treatments to work effectively, in comparison to one visit to Oasis Dental for a whitening treatment. Call our office today to discuss teeth whitening treatment options for you and your family members.

Insurance Plans

We accept most insurance plans and will gladly process your claim. Please bring the necessary information with you on your first visit. Insurance policies generally cover only a portion of the total treatment cost. Unless other arrangements have been made, we ask that you pay your portion of the bill at the time of treatment. It is your responsibility to pay any balance not paid by your insurance company. For your convenience, we also accept payments made with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Financing is available through Care Credit.
